When asking others to evaluate their behavior, it is often helpful to "close" the question into a yes or no answer. Once the evaluation is made, an "open" question should be usede to gather more information.
Example:
"Has the way you have approached the situation worked?" "No" "How do you want things to turn out?" or "What do you see as your options now?"
